Concrete Washout, Broken Slab, and Demo Debris Hauling
Concrete · May 30, 2026 · 8 min read
Concrete waste is heavy, alkaline, and regulated on many jobsites. Washout water, hardened spoil, and demo rubble cannot ride on the same truck or go to the same facility without planning. Get the sequence right or you pay for overweight tickets and rejected loads. Post concrete and rolloff needs on Jobsite Exchange or submit a haul request - we help connect demolition and site teams with independent providers.
Crushable concrete or mixed demo? Post under concrete or rolloff on the Dirt Board - recyclers and haulers search by category and map pin. Post a listing
For Ready-Mix Plants and Pump Contractors
Washout from chutes and pump lines must stay contained - lined pit, watertight bin, or haul-off container. Never dump washout into storm drains or unlined soil. Schedule pump wash boxes and returned mud pickups before the end of pour day so hardened concrete does not lock up equipment overnight.
- Size washout capacity to the largest single pour on the schedule
- Label concrete slurry loads for the disposal site's acceptance rules
- Keep plant and jobsite tickets separate for environmental reporting
For Demolition Contractors
Broken slab and footing concrete often runs with rebar - know whether your recycler wants metal separated or will process mixed loads. Use rolloffs for mixed demo and end dumps for clean crushable concrete when the recycler pays by the ton for clean material.
For Commercial Site Superintendents
Coordinate concrete waste hauls with crane picks and steel delivery. A full rolloff in the tower crane radius is a day of lost picks. Stage washout and rubble containers on the haul road side of the site, not the production side.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Letting washout overflow after a large mat pour
- Mixing wood, drywall, and concrete in one "construction debris" box without checking weight limits
- No scale tickets when the GC pays haul by the ton
Post concrete or rolloff listings on the Dirt Board when you have surplus crushable material or need debris capacity. Jobsite Exchange is an open marketplace - you confirm facility acceptance and haul terms directly with providers.
